Northern Craft Fair - Gateshead
I have just finished at the Northern Craft fair event located at The Baltic, Gateshead. It was SO fun and a great experience, I highly recommend applying any craft makers for next year. I loved it. It was a success. I have met other passionate makers and creators, whom I hope to see again soon. The event was made up of various amount of styles and makers, and proved to be popular, as each day (sat and sun) were very busy. Many people took my business card, so much so I ran ou

Post Potfest in the Pens
Yesterday I returned from Penrith, as I was holding a stand at Potfest in the Pens. I loved Potfest when I first visited three years ago, and this year I had the great opportunity to sell there myself. It was a great success and definitely a place I would like to continue to return to. Not only was I surrounded by creative like-minded people, everybody including the returning public were so welcoming. Other exhibiters included beginners, and experienced ceramists/potters, whi

British Craft Trade Fair Event
Having a stand at the British Craft Trade Fair was an amazing experience. A chance to meet fellow makers, buyers, and stockists, its a great feeling being surrounded by like-minded people who have a passion for their craft and the arts. As I was located in the Newcomers section, I was surrounded by others who have little or no experience at trade fairs, yet they too were determined to make their passion into a business. Having a stand and decorating it in a way to stand out w
Future Events
After Christmas, although it has been quiet with stalls.. I have been accepted to hold a stand at the BCTF (British Craft Trade Fair) in Harrogate. This is a chance for me to show my collection and gain stockists. This will be a first for me and my business and a very exciting step progression. So recently I have been researching and gathering inspiration for future designs which would be desirable. I will continue to blog about this process up to the event itself. As well a

Crafts in the Pen, Skipton Auction Mart
It has been a busy and fulfilling weekend at The Crafts in the Pen, Skipton Auction Mart. I have made many sales as well as commissions, and meeting other stall holders, overall it was very enjoyable. Hopefully I will get the opportunity to hold another stall at Skipton Auction Mart, either in the summer at Art in the Pen or returning to Crafts in the Pen in November. #2019 #skipton #skiptonauctionmart #maker #ceramics #ceramic #design #craft #christmas #stall #craftsinthepen

It has been such a busy day.. Driving TWO hours to get to Crafts in the Pen at Skipton and setting up my pen for the weekend. It is my first craft stall at an event like this and I was so nervous and excited. After a few hours of setting up I finally finished. Looking at the other stalls setting up I know it is going to be a good show. Below are a few pictures of setting up and the result. #2018 #christmas #craft #crafts #ceramics #handmade #handmadeceramics #ceramic #clay #p
Camp Med-O-Lark
I have briefly mentioned in my previous blog post I was a Camp Counsellor for Camp Med-O-Lark in Maine, USA. I was working in the U.S as a Camp Counsellor and taught pottery, and briefly taught stained glass. It was an incredible experience and would recommend it to anyone. It certainly teaches you a lot of life skills and you have the chance to meet an array of people from all over the world. Working at camp makes you push yourself to do things out of your comfort zone, who
Building my studio
Just before my time working as a Camp Counsellor at Camp Med-O-Lark in Maine I hired an electrician to wire in my new kiln. I just need to figure out how to plug in the controller box then I should be able to make work again soon. I have also just bought a new pottery wheel from Sedgefield Pottery Supplies. Bill is the owner of Sedgefield Pottery Studio, and told me more about my kiln as he once had it. Building a ceramic studio for myself has been a slow process, as the esse
